I've Moved... Again!

One year ago (almost to the day!), I wrote a post titled "I've Moved!"
In this post, I went on about how we were moving to a tiny little town in the middle of the mountains and it was going to be just swell and blah blah blah... (You can read that post HERE>>>)
Well, a ton has happened since then. To make a long story short, it's one of those places that is really nice to visit but horrible to live in. Once we started getting to know the culture and the people of the area, we realized that it was definitely not the kind of place we wanted to be. Business is awful there, a trip to the grocery store will cost you a third of your income, and worst of all: nothing will grow! It is 🌵desert terrain, afterall.
Now, California is known for being expensive, I'm well aware. So when I was looking at homes for rent and I saw that they were going for upwards of $2,500 for a two-bedroom house, it wasn't all that surprising. However, I lost my shit when I walked into one of those homes and saw that they had no heating/cooling system at all (temps range from -10 to 120 depending on the season), an underground cellar instead of a fridge (I'm talking... NO way to hookup a fridge. Like, there's no space in the kitchen and no electrical capacity for it) and THE OVEN HAD TO BE OUTSIDE. And they wanted $2,500/ month for it. In an area where the nearest grocery store is 45 minutes away. I felt like I was in the twilight zone. I figured that if we're going to pay Bay Area prices, we'd might as well be living in the Bay Area, right??
So, just like that, we packed up our stuff and headed to the Bay. We loaded our car, hit the road, and everything started opening up for us. We stumbled upon amazing opportunities, and everything is finally lining up for us exactly how we wanted it to all along.
I would say that we wasted a year making a frivolous decision and struggling to make something work that just wasn't right for us, but that wouldn't be entirely true. We learned some hard lessons last year. We also went on some life-changing adventures. We saw and did things we would otherwise have only imagined. We got 💍engaged at our favorite hiking spot near the stream in the woods on top of the mountain. We learned a lot about ourselves and our limits. Most of all, we learned that you DO NOT ignore a message when it comes up in a Tarot Reading... especially when it comes up over and over and over again!

It was totally one of those situations where I was like "Eeesh, these cards look really bad. I bet we could turn it around and make something great out of it!" and "Oh, jeez, these cards say that this place will be the death of us... Look babe, we're gonna spend the rest of our lives here!!"
Yeah, we were pretty delusional. But now I truly feel that we're on the right path for both of us, and for the business. There's so much life out here. There are so many people out here that I can reach with my work. There are tons of opportunities for us here, in every single aspect of life that we could imagine. Even though we're now in a heavily populated area, there's still a huge connection to nature... which I love! And, we are closer to the people we care about!
We're still working on getting permanently settled (we've only been here for about two months), but we are definitely here for the long-term. We'll be based mainly in the Concord/Baypoint/Antioch/Brentwood areas. If you're in this area, I'd love to hear from you! Where are you located? What do you love about living here? Where are all of the witchy haunts that I need to know about??
Also, if you're in the area and would like to schedule a reading with me, get in touch! I can schedule in-person readings with anyone who is within traveling distance here in the Bay Area!
