This might seem like a strange topic for me to cover. You may be wondering what in the world being an alpha has to do with spirituality.
If you're not familiar with what an alpha is, Dictionary.com defines it as:
Alpha
adjective
1. (of an animal) having the highest rank in a dominance hierarchy;
2. being the most dominant, powerful, or assertive person in a particular group.
When you are an alpha energy, the energy that you exert into the world is dominant and takes precedence over other energies around you.
So... why am I writing about this??
Over time, I've had lots of complaints from clients about feeling like something or someone else is controlling the energy in their home. It's heavy, it's negative, and it just won't go away no matter what they do. They are fearful of the energy, and they aren't confident in their ability to do something about it.
They often don't know it, but their energy is submissive. If you lack confidence in yourself and your personal power, you are leaving plenty of room for a stronger energy to come in and take over. That stronger energy is probably not going to be as peaceful and loving as you'd like.
Becoming a little more alpha really is the key to dominating the energy in your house, and keeping it maintained at the level you want it. If you are the alpha energy, then yours is the energy that dominates all others in the home. Anyone or anything else who enters your space will naturally want to vibe along with whatever you're putting out there. Any kind of entity that can't match your vibrations simply can't thrive in your space.
Sound like something you need in your home? Here are some steps you can take to grow into a more dominant energy and rule the vibes that exist in your home.
1. Claim your space.
First and foremost, make your home yours. This is the one thing I, myself, struggled with for years! I never really felt truly at home anywhere, so I struggled to put down any kind of energetic roots. It wasn't until I learned to claim my space that I started gaining more control over the energy that was allowed there.
Your home is yours. You live there. You have complete control over what goes on under your roof. It's your roof, after all!
What would you do if a stranger walked in and started playing loud music that you hate. It's clashing with the music you were already playing, and you can't even hear yourself think. Are you going to just let them stick around and disrespect you like that? No, you say something. You kick them out. You wouldn't put up with that shit. At least, I hope not!
The same goes for the energy in your home. This rule needs to apply to your family, housemates, guests, pets, and any spirits that may come wandering through your space. It's your home, and you are the boss. If anyone or anything else can't pick up what you're putting down, they're OUT.
2. Cleanse.
Once you've mastered the 'claim your space' step, you need a proper cleanse. Smudge the hell out of your home. Drive out all of the nasty energy that's lingering there. If it doesn't vibe with you, it needs to go, NOW.
3. Cleanse Again. But actually mean it this time!
"Unwanted spirits, please leave me alone?" This phrase (or something similar) is often used by those who are having trouble getting an energy cleanse to work. Notice that question mark at the end of the sentence?
Let's use that intruder analogy again. Some stranger barges into your house in the middle of the night. You say, "Leave my house, please?" How well do you think that's going to work? If you approach the situation that way, your intruder is probably going to take you for all you have.
Instead, your approach needs to be more along the lines of "get OUT of my house, NOW!" Get possessive and protective about your home and the energy that resides within it. It's YOUR home. You rule that shit. Believe it. Act like it. You are bigger and badder than any kind of negativity that may be hanging around.
4. Inhabit every room!
Put something in every room of your house that helps your intentions along. Crystals, a salt lamp, charm bags, talismans... whatever makes sense for your situation. Just make sure that you put something in every room of the house that makes your intentions clear. This helps your energy to infiltrate the entire space, and it can help you keep control. It's kind of like a tag that subtly says "I rule this room. No trespassing negativity."
5. Maintain.
Energies can change at the drop of a hat. It's important to monitor how the energy in your home feels... frequently. If you have a housemate that's always tracking in negativity, you'll have to counteract that on a regular basis so it never gets out of hand. Remember, that shit builds up fast. Repeat step number three the SECOND you feel like you need to. Don't wait. If you sense some negative energy, get it handled right away. As you begin to get more consistent about clearing out the energies that aren't wanted in your home, it will start getting much easier.
6. Keep yourself in check, too.
This is an important point to remember. Your own energy has a HUGE impact on the collective energy in your home! Failing to take control allows all kinds of outside energy to drift in and take up residence. As an "energy alpha," whatever kind of energy you're putting out into the world sets the tone for the entire whole of the space you claim. Whether that be anger, fear, love, happiness, gratitude, or whatever else you radiate on a regular basis.
It's all about convincing yourself that you're the one in charge... and then acting like it. I used to struggle badly with negativity. It was everywhere, and I couldn't get it to leave. A cleanse would only clear it out for a few days, and then it would settle right back in again. But the problem wasn't the negativity at all. The problem was me! I believed that the negative energy was much more powerful than I was, and my belief made it true. The moment I started looking at the situation differently was the moment the tables turned. We are all much more powerful than most of us believe we are!
What do you think? Do you struggle to keep control of the energy in your space? What are the problems you face? Let me know in the comments!
